I went through 3 rounds of test pressings for the vinyl and third time's a charm🤙

First batch is marked with MTC001V-A and MTC001V-B. They sounded great already but just had an extra ~12 seconds of lead-in time on Side A.

Second batch solved the issue but turned out to be a "cold press", to which test pressings are prone due to the machine not having enough time to warm up. This resulted in higher vinyl noise that are specially noticeable in quiet parts of the record. As such, this batch is NOT for sale.

Third batch used the same stamper as the second and is marked with MTC001V-A2 and MTC001V-B2. They sound great, have low self-noise, and sound identical to the final version.

Batches 1 and 3 have great sound, and I'm letting go of 3 from each of those batches, while Batch 2 will NOT be for sale given the vinyl noise issue.

about

Album Notes:

All tracks produced and mixed by Metic in Brooklyn and Hong Kong while documenting life across his home and hometown.

Special thanks to Riddem for their blessings in the sampling of In Debt for Prunella Tea, as well as Andy Zheng and Brandon Cheng for taking the front and back cover photos respectively.

about

metic Brooklyn, New York

Metic fuses soulful guitar grooves with laid-back hip-hop beats. While his playing is rooted in blues and fingerstyle guitar, his productions are informed by 90s boombap, G-funk and trip-hop. A nomadic soul and frequent collaborator, the Brooklyn-based Hong Kong native continues to draw inspiration from both cities. ... more
